Pierrot Blues is a one woman show in black and white. An all ages spectacle blending dance, object manipulation, live music, singing, shadows and video projection.
Pierrot’s dimly lit laboratory on wheels moves to an original sound track and a smokey dreamy atmosphere. It tells a love story between an inventor and a rag doll that he brings to life. During their travels, Pierrot is cursed by a witch. The Doll returns alone. She is sad, so sad that she fades into a skeleton and dies. A tale inspired by the fantastical universe of fairs, cinema, cabaret from early 20th century.
Either alone or with accomplices, Nefertiti in the Kitchen moves and grooves the streets and stages of europe with her lively folk blues repertoire. Along her travels, she has learned to get the party rocking in french, english, portuguese, italian and swiss german. Directly out of her kitchen sessions, Nefertiti In The Kitchen abandons her pots and pans to perform with a whip, a guitar, her raw gritty voice and hats.
Casanova ‘s fiancee, a mechanical doll who lives in a music box, longs for the moment when her lucky star will free her from her shadow until midnight, letting her take human form to meet her beloved. Unavoidably detained, Casanova arrives late for their rendez vous. She waits. He appears just as the clock strikes twelve, cutting short their encounter, leaving him alone.
This duet is the company’s first show. Noces de Chiffon was created in Switzerland where both members graduated from the Hoch Kunst Bern rhythmic department, with a music and movement pedagogic degree. The characters tell their love story through the artful, lyrical blending of their two voices in song, four hands playing one piano and accompanied by either dance or mute film.
Here’s our magician of sounds. Poly-instrumentalist Nicolas Méheust sets the Bluffonne’s tales to music with an assortment of spellbinding devices including musical box, electric guitar, accordion or noisy drums.
He creates original soundtracks which transport you from a demented mechanical atmosphere of a mad scientist’s laboratory to a rock orchestral bazaar.
Recording music with a blend of instruments and ambient noises, Nefertiti in the kitchen makes songs out of the gurgling coffee pot, glokenspiel or flies buzzing around… A travelling one-woman choir who likes visiting friends bringing her own tea kettle and toy piano ready for a cooking session.
